FUNCTIONAL LONGEVITY
A thought provoking look at the future. Our presentation encourages participants to examine lifestyle options and then reverse engineer their life span by looking at how long they want to live and what health they want to enjoy. By the end of the presentation the participants will have a clear idea of how to delay the onset of chronic disease and compress the period of their life they spend with functional decline.

The presentation is developed to motivate employees to look at what factors they control that can significantly impact their personal physical and mental wellness. We help them understand the need for long-term, sustainable, behavioral change in their lifestyles. We identify what health goals look like and then identify key focus areas for delaying or avoiding long term chronic health issues.
We begin with an overview of 3 key focus areas related to Life span and an introduction into functional decline. In understandable language we connect length (period of life) with morbidity (period of sickness) and the impact of delaying chronic disease (period of health). |

Before we discuss functionality we look at the process model of change and how adaptability is a core human success trait. Functionality is then broken down into the 6 most critical needs for a healthy life (3 physical and 3 mental). We then look at the 9 levers that have direct impacts on personal health. These are broken down into 3 base needs, 3 social/mindful supports and 3 bio-chemical concerns. We can all see the growing, chronic, mental and physical limitations in our aging workforce and we want to help employees understand the impacts of their daily choices on their future functional abilities. |
